7 Signs You Are Heading For Bankruptcy

Identifying the warning signs of an impending personal financial crisis is extremely important. Sometimes these signs may be the only thing keeping you from bankruptcy.
You may be headed into a serious debt problem if you’re seeing one or more of these signs:

1. Maxing out on your credit cards or charging more than you can pay off each month

The Malaysian Department of Insolvency stated that credit card debt made up 5% of all bankruptcy cases in Malaysia between 2005 and 2012. You can see other causes here.
It is important to ensure that you use credit cards prudently. The general rule of thumb is to use no more than 30% to 40% of your credit limit at any one time. This gives you flexibility in case of job loss, illness, divorce, or other threats to your income.

What Multitasking Does To Our Brains

We've all heard it hundreds of times: to work efficiently we have to single task. No multitasking. And yet, we let it slip. We end up eating lunch in front of the TV with our laptop open. We browse Twitter and Facebook whilst sending emails, and probably chatting in Google+ too. If we should be focusing on just one assignment, blog post, or proposal...why the heck is it so hard to focus?

Why we multitask in the first place: It makes us feel good

To understand why we always fall into the habit of multitasking, when we know we shouldn't, I found some very interesting studies. The answer is in fact quite simple:

[People who multitask] are not being more productive—they just feel more emotionally satisfied from their work.

How to Manage Your Time on a Chaotic, Irregular Schedule

Not everyone works 9-5. When you schedule doesn't fit into neat little boxes, it can require some special skills to keep everything in order. Here are some tactics you can use to keep your energy up and maintain a bit of control.

In a past life, I worked as a video producer, writing, shooting, and editing short films. Anyone who's worked in this field for more than a day can tell you that regular hours are not something you keep. Some days you'll work 16 hours straight, other days you'll shoot for three hours in the middle of the night because that's the only time everyone's free. Developing skills to manage a chaotic schedule becomes incredibly important when you can't know when you're working from week to week (and, notably, these skills transfer very well to working multiple jobs and/or retail).

The Deep Politics of God : The CNP, Dominionism, and the Ted Haggard Scandal (Part 2 of 2)

Deep Politics and the Evangelical Establishment

The CNP should concern people, but not necessarily for the reasons that the Left present. Groups like the CNP can draw innocent Christians into the practice of deep politics. Deep politics is a term first coined by Professor Peter Dale Scott. Scott gives the following description of deep politics:
My notion of deep politics… posits that in every culture and society there are facts which tend to be suppressed collectively, because of the social and psychological costs of not doing so. Like all other observers, I too have involuntarily suppressed facts and even memories about the drug traffic that were too provocative to be retained with equanimity. (No pagination)

First MRT Line is 65% Complete

Artist Rendering of MRT Station
The Kuala Lumpur Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project is a part of the government’s economic transformation programme. Anyone driving in and around Kuala Lumpur could not have failed to see the construction, although the company has done a reasonably good job of keeping the traffic moving despite the line running alongside (or in the middle of) major roads.

The project will eventually consist of three lines. The first line will run from Sungai Buloh to Kajang. The train line will be elevated until its approaches the city centre when it will go underground. It will be 51 kilometres long and have 31 stations, seven of which will be underground. It will be capable of carrying 400,000 passengers a day. The second line will be 52 kilometres long and run from Sungai Buloh to Putrajaya and is targeted for completion in 2022.

The CEO recently announced that the first line is now 65% complete, and the first section from Sungai Buloh to Jalan Semantan will be finished by the end of next year and the final section, to Kajang, by July 2017.

How-to : Print Your EPF Statement In 3 Steps

If you are applying for a home loan or a personal loan, one of the most important documents you need to submit together with your application is your latest Employees Provident Fund’s (EPF) statement. This statement shows the monthly contribution from you and your employer in both Account 1 and 2.

For the uninitiated, EPF is a compulsory retirement savings scheme implemented by our government for all salaried workers in Malaysia. The money saved in your EPF account is invested and will be compounded according to the interest rate set.

The statement is a great way to prove the level and stability of your income to the financial institutions you are applying for a credit from. If you are applying for a credit card at the shopping mall, the sales agent will usually print the EPF statement, using your MyKad, on the spot.

However, with the advent of technology, you now don’t need to apply for loans or credit cards physically. With just a few clicks of a mouse, you can sort out most of your banking needs online.

Those masked men among us

Pretentious people with masks are all around us. Can we not see them? Or do we choose not to?

Lately there are so many people masking themselves, pretending to be who they are not.

Did you hear about the lady in Algeria who was sued by her husband because she wasn’t who she pretended to be? The husband thought he had married a beautiful, gorgeous woman but once those inches of foundation and make-up came off, he got a fright looking at what was left of her.

If you remember, there was also a case of a man in China who sued his wife for failing to disclose that she had undergone a series of plastic surgeries prior to marriage. He claimed to have fathered three ‘ugly’ children due to his wife’s ‘cheating’ .

Najib’s the man to cure us of all ills

The commander in chief will not let the Malays become bangsat.

Last Sunday, Malaysians woke up to a beautiful morning, but of course expected the day to be spoiled by more ridiculous statements and incredulous claims from one or more of the Cabinet members. And we were not disappointed.

Speaking at the joint opening of the delegates meetings of the Padang Besar, Kangar, and Arau Umno divisions, the mighty leader of the most democratic, most prosperous, most intelligent, best staffed government in all of South East Asia proclaimed that if Umno fell in the next GE, the Malays would become “bangsat” in their own country.

“Bangsat” is a rich word that can be used as a noun or an adjective. It can translate into “low, mean and dirty” or “felon” or “scoundrel.” Najib probably used it for “outcast” or “destitute” or both.

Internet speed in Malaysia

Good internet speed is no longer a luxury but a necessity in every Malaysian home/office

Malaysians can’t live without their latest gadgets and internet connection is definitely a must-have today, not just in the busy urban areas but in rural locations, even amidst village houses. Even the elder generations can be seen tapping and scrolling on their smart phones, I-pads, tablets; and children as young as one to two years can be seen playing with parents’ IT devices when left alone.

Are We Well Connected?

Yes and no. Malaysia has many service providers offering various packages and promotions with a variety of speed connections. That said, Malaysians can be classified to be one of the most globally-connected people. Shopping online is getting addictive as many local websites are mushrooming to cater to these buffs and e-banking, e-mails, watching videos, audio visual chats, global positioning system (GPS) have raised consumption of vast volumes of bandwidth for Malaysians’ increasing digital lifestyle.

The question is, do most Malaysians realize if they’re getting the internet speed they have subscribed to?

Enter The House Of The Temple

Enter The House Of The Temple

The young tour guide tells the camera man those snakes near the pillars represent “chaos.” Poppycock. The meaning of the serpent in Masonry is the same as other occult initiatory sects, namely the keeper of wisdom or the mysteries themselves.
